Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition counseling covers a wide range of nutritional assistance and is the core of what Integrated Nutrition, LLC, does.

In its most basic form, nutritional counseling is a series of one-on-one sessions between the dietitian/nutritionist and the client that are designed to effectively address the client’s individual nutritional needs and goals.

Typically, the initial consultation is 1 hour in length and subsequent sessions are usually I hour long. Prior to the initial session, important health and other relevant information is gathered from the client, so that the client’s nutritional circumstances can be evaluated and counseling sessions can be designed for maximum effectiveness.

The point of nutrition counseling is to provide the client with the best, most scientifically accurate nutritional information and behavioral tools that are likely to achieve client success in meeting both their short and long-term nutritional and lifestyle goals.

Assessments

At Integrated Nutrition, LLC, client nutritional evaluation and assessments are an important part of the nutritional counseling experience.

Starting with the client intake process and continuing through goal achievement, individualized nutritional assessment plays an important (but not exclusive) role in determining the course of action most likely to achieve client success.

Such assessments/analyses include: personal nutritional assessments, computerized analysis to determine nutritional deficiencies or excesses, body composition analysis and more.

Appropriate, comprehensive and technologically sound assessment techniques help lay the foundation for a successful nutrition counseling experience.

Client Education/Tools

At Integrated Nutrition, LLC, we believe that a well-informed client equipped with the most effective nutritional tools is much more likely to successfully achieve their nutritional goals.

Toward that end, Integrated Nutrition, LLC, offers a number of opportunities for client education, including initial and ongoing assessment reports, various informative written materials, meal plans, unique/flexible food journals and dietitian-nutritionist advice that are all part of the nutrition counselingprocess.

In addition to those educational opportunities offered as part of the nutrition counseling experience, Integrated Nutrition, LLC, offers outside group and corporate lectures, and in-office small group lectures/seminars with accompanying written materials as part of a continual effort to to provide its clients with the latest and best nutritional information.

In addition to one-on-one nutrition counseling, Integrated Nutrition, LLC, offers a number of different opportunities for nutritional education—among those are group-oriented events such as outside group and corporate lectures/presentations and smaller group (8 or less) in-office lectures/seminars.

Integrated Nutrition, LLC, is pleased to work with event organizers to ensure that the nutritional topics addressed are those that are of the most relevancy and nutritional concern to the particular group.

Integrated Nutrition, LLC, has been, and is, in the forefront of implementing different ways that nutritional services and education can be effectively delivered to a wide variety of audiences.

Mentoring

Integrated Nutrition, LLC, is available (for fee) to help dietitians and nutritionists, who may be just starting out (or already engaged) in private nutritional practice, with such issues as client concerns, office organization, marketing, networking, professional registration/licensure, and professional growth and development—in other words, all the things they don’t really teach in a nutrition curriculum.

By necessity, mentoring will be circumscribed by client privacy and HIPAA concerns/requirements.

It’s well known that one of the hardest things for professionals to do is seek outside advice/mentoring. The truth is that sometimes just having an experienced professional in the field to talk with about professional concerns can be beneficial (and even therapeutic).

Integrated Nutrition, LLC, stands ready to assist other nutritional professionals in any way that it can.

Doctors

Doctors and other health care professionals are an important source of referrals to Integrated Nutrition, LLC. We honor those referrals in a number of ways:

  1. First and foremost, we work with the referring health care professional and patient to ensure that the patient is being faithful to the prescribed treatment plan and that the patient never receives a mixed message about the goal of therapy.
  2. We provide the referring health care professional, as appropriate, with initial and updated Medical Nutrition Therapy reports.
  3. We consider the doctor-patient relationship to be sacrosanct and believe that, if anything, that relationship will be strengthened by the professional quality and competency of the services we provide.
  4. Finally, we follow the Principles in the American Dietetics Association (ADA) Code of Ethics for the Profession of Dietetics that govern the conduct of ADA Registered Dietitians.
